Using this website
Privacy & downloads
This website is run by Gianluca Fusai. For questions about a workbook request or your information, contact gianluca.fusai@uniupo.it.
When you request a workbook
We collect the email address you enter, the workbook and its version, the request time, and the time the download link is used. We use this information to fulfil and record your download request.
The form checks the email address format; it does not verify that you own the address. Your workbook downloads in your browser. We do not send a delivery email. The form subscribes you to nothing unless you tick the optional box described below.
If you ask to hear about new lessons
The download form has an optional box, not ticked by default, to receive occasional emails when a new Excelling in Finance lesson is published. The download does not depend on it. If you tick it, we keep your email address, the date and time of your consent, the version of the wording you agreed to and the lesson page where you gave it.
We use this information only to tell you about new lessons. The legal basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link included in every email, or by writing to gianluca.fusai@uniupo.it; your address is then deleted from the list. The list is not shared or sold, and is kept until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion.
If you send a suggestion
The suggestion form stores the type of suggestion, the lesson it refers to, your message and the time it was sent. Name and email are optional; if you give an email address, it is used only to reply to your suggestion. Suggestions are read by Gianluca Fusai to plan and improve the lessons, and are deleted from the website database automatically after two years. A copy of each suggestion is also sent by email to the Excelling in Finance mailbox (ExcellinginFinance@gmail.com, hosted by Google), where it is kept as long as needed to read and answer it.
Your download link
A download link is valid for 15 minutes and can be used once. It contains a random token rather than your email address. If the link expires or has already been used, submit a new workbook request.
How long records remain
Request records have an expiry date 90 days after the request. Expired records are deleted on the next workbook request or when the site owner exports the request records. If the site is inactive, records can remain after 90 days until that cleanup occurs. The same cleanup deletes suggestions older than two years. Addresses on the list for new lessons are kept until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion.
Storage and security
Cloudflare Workers hosts the website and workbook files. Cloudflare D1 stores the request records, the list for new lessons and the suggestions. None of them is available through a public endpoint; the site owner can export them using an authenticated Cloudflare account.
To limit repeated requests, the site uses short-lived hashes based on the connecting IP address and a time window. The application database does not store the raw IP address. These rate-limit records expire after 15 minutes and are removed during the same cleanup process.
Cookies and external links
This public website does not add analytics or marketing cookies and does not require an account or sign-in to request a workbook.
University profiles, research pages, book publishers and other linked websites have their own privacy practices.
Access or deletion requests
To ask about a record, request a copy of your information, or request its deletion (download records, the list for new lessons or a suggestion), email gianluca.fusai@uniupo.it and identify the email address you used.
